Materials & Jewellery Care
We use a range of materials to make our pieces. Read on to know more about the materials and how to care for them.
925 sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy for added strength, making it hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.
It is completely normal for silver to naturally tarnish over time as it reacts with air, humidity, skin oils, and cosmetics. Don't worry, tarnishing is purely on the surface and can be removed. Simple care will instantly restore your piece to its original shine!
Care Tips
- Wear It Often: Your skin's natural, healthy oils actually help coat the silver and keep it gleaming! The best way to prevent fast oxidation is simply to wear your favorite pieces regularly.
- Follow the "Last On, First Off" Rule: Always put your silver jewelry on last after applying perfume, lotion, sunscreen, hairspray, or cosmetics. Allow your skin products to absorb fully first.
- Keep Away from Moisture & Chemicals: Remove your silver before showering, swimming in chlorinated pools, soaking in hot springs, exercising, or using household cleaning solutions.
- For a deep cleanse, use gentle toothpaste, or mix baking soda and water together and wrap your jewelry in aluminium foil for 5-10mins before gently wiping it away, rinsing with water and patting it dry.
Stainless steel is incredibly durable, can last longer, and does not tarnish, but this comes at the cost of a "duller" appearance compared to Sterling Silver. They don't require much maintenance. Wear them into water and shower and they will never tarnish nor turn green.
We use premium grade stainless steel, making our pieces strong, lightweight, and ideal for daily wear.
Why we love it:
- Tarnish & Rust-Resistant: Unlike traditional precious metals, stainless steel does not oxidize or turn dark over time. It maintains its luster and polished shine effortlessly.
- Water-Friendly: Designed for active lifestyles, stainless steel holds up remarkably well against daily water exposure, sweat, and humidity.
- Hypoallergenic: Stainless steel is non-reactive and gentle on sensitive skin, making it a safe choice for those prone to skin irritations or metal sensitivities.
Care Tips
Stainless steel is virtually hassle-free, but a little routine care will keep it looking brand new:
- Simple Cleanse: Wash your piece in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap. Use a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush to gently clean around grooves or details.
- Rinse & Dry: Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to prevent water spots.
Our gold-plated pieces feature a thick layer of genuine gold bonded onto a durable base metal (such as 925 Sterling Silver or Stainless Steel). This gives you the rich, warm glow of solid gold at an accessible price point for everyday styling.
Because gold plating sits on the outer surface of the metal, the gold layer can naturally soften or wear over time with frequent friction, exposure to skin oils, and contact with harsh environmental elements.
Care Tips
- Follow the "Last On, First Off" Rule: Always put your gold-plated jewelry on last after applying perfume, lotion, hairspray, body oils, or makeup. Allow your skincare and cosmetics to dry completely before putting on your jewelry.
- Keep Away from Moisture & Sweat: Remove your gold-plated pieces before showering, washing your hands, exercising, or swimming in pools, ocean water, or hot tubs. Water, salt, and chlorine accelerate wear on surface finishes.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep away from household cleaning detergents, bleach, hand sanitizers, and chemical solutions.
Rhodium is an exceptionally rare, precious metal from the platinum family. We apply a fine layer of genuine rhodium over our Sterling Silver with Silver finish to give your jewelry a brilliant, mirror-like white sheen that resists tarnish and scratching.
Why We Love It
- Tarnish Resistance: Unlike raw sterling silver, rhodium shields the silver core beneath, preventing natural oxidation and darkening.
- Hypoallergenic Protection: Rhodium provides a smooth, protective barrier that is gentle on sensitive skin.
Because rhodium is a surface plating, preserving the finish comes down to minimizing physical friction and chemical exposure:
- The "Last On, First Off" Rule: Put your rhodium-plated pieces on last, after perfume, hairspray, body lotions, and sunscreen have fully absorbed.
- Avoid Water & Sweat: Take off your jewelry before showering, swimming in chlorinated pools or ocean water, and exercising.
- Keep Away from Chemicals: Avoid contact with hand sanitizers, cleaning agents, and harsh chemical soaps.
Some of our pieces feature genuine freshwater pearls and natural gemstones. Because they are formed by nature, every pearl and stone possesses unique variations in texture, color, shape, and luster, making each piece uniquely yours.
Unlike solid metals, natural stones and pearls are porous and sensitive to heat, friction, and chemicals. Exposure to harsh substances can dull their surface, fade their color, or strip away their natural shine.
Care Tips
- Avoid Water & Moisture: Keep pieces dry when showering or swimming. Moisture and minerals can seep into natural inclusions, dulling the stone or weakening settings over time.
- Keep Away from Chemicals: Never expose them to household cleaners, alcohol, hand sanitizers, or vinegar.
- Gentle Cleaning Only: Wipe your pearls gently with a soft, clean, damp cloth after wearing to remove skin oils and cosmetic residue. Never use silver polishing cloths, jewelry dip solutions, ultrasonic cleaners, or abrasive sponges on pearls.
